CREATING A MOBILE APP & SYSTEM FOR NEW START-UPS

Why should SME focus on digitalisation of operations and create a mobile application and system for their businesses?

A study conducted by the Ministry of Trade and Industry has shown that by adopting digital tools, it would enable a firm to increase its value-add and productivity by an average of 25% and 16% respectively.

This suggests that SMEs who embraces on digitalisation and adopting automation would be able to boost their productivity. In addition, leveraging technology also provides SME with data-driven insights, allowing them to gain deeper understanding of their customers and improve business operations.

Newly start-ups SMEs can adopt simple, packaged solutions in their early phases of going digital as operations are less complicated and they may not require heavy investments for highly sophisticated systems.

Hence, Andrew offers a simple packaged solution – FLEX360 mobile application for new SME to adopt as they take their first step into digitising their business.

WHAT IS FLEX360?

It is an innovative talent management system and unique employee benefits solution for SMEs to compete against MNCs in terms of talent management.

BENEFITS OF FLEX360

FLEX365 requires low cost, yet provides high value and flexible benefits for business owners to manage their employee system.

It is a simple data-entry system for staff to input their purchases for Employee Benefits Claims as well as simple for keeping track of claim processing.

Provides a one-stop solution to link your business up with various insurance providers at a low cost while complimenting your existing Employee Benefit Structure.

The solution may be to use an easy to learn software platform to reduce your maintenance cost and quick to the market launch of your mobile APP solution.

APPLYING NLP ON COACHING & TRAINING

NLP: NEURO-LINGUISTIC PROGRAMMING

NLP is perceived as a skill or technology that is mostly in the mind. It is used to enhance performance, to help an individual control their emotional state and to stay focussed on their goals and objectives in life.

Many people would believe that we have only one type of intelligence – IQ (Intellectual). However, we actually have four major forms of intelligence and utilise in solving issues and problems that we struggle with.

WHAT DOES THESE 4 TYPES OF INTELLIGENCE QUOTIENT MEANS?

To be ahead of others in such a competitive world today, you will have to use your other three intelligence in EQ (Emotional) , SQ (Spiritual), and PQ (Physical) to be ahead of others.

INTELLIGENCE QUOTIENT (IQ)

IQ, short for intelligence quotient, is a measure of a person’s reasoning ability and mental intelligence such as accessing analytical or mathematical intelligence.

In layman terms, IQ is supposed to gauge how well you can use information and logic to answer questions or make predictions.

PHYSICAL QUOTIENT (PQ)

PQ is a function of a person’s self-awareness at the most basic level. It is a function of how well you are attuned to your physical wellbeing; how you treat your mind, body and spirit.

“A healthy mind lives in a healthy body.”

EMOTIONAL QUOTIENT (EQ)

EQ refers to your ability in accessing and controlling your emotions and those of others and applying them to specific tasks and problem solving. It is about understanding, accepting your emotions, and managing them. It also helps you to understand how others are feeling and enables you to develop more fulfilling and deeper relationships.

SPIRITUAL QUOTIENT (SQ)

The ability to utilize spiritual resources to solve problems. With SQ, you access the voice of your higher self and lit it drive your life.

In NLP, spiritual intelligence answers the questions of:

“How can I access and align the different realms of intelligence to unleash true wisdom and compassion”

“For whom or for what do we strive -to make a positive difference in our world?”

TAX FILING FOR BUSINESS OWNER

It is important for a business owner to file income tax returns as it is part of their responsibility. The government mandates individuals who earn a specified amount of annual income to file a tax return within a predetermined due date. Penalties would be imposed on businesses who fail to pay the required tax from the Income Tax Department.

You are considered a self-employed person if you have received full-time or part-time income from trade, business, or profession. It is required for you to report this income in your tax return.

TAX SEASON 2020

Tax filing for the Year of Assessment (YA) 2020 begins on 1 March 2020.

There are two ways to file your taxes:

  1. E-file via myTax Portal

  2. Paper file

If you are required to submit an income tax tax return, you have to do so by the following dates:

For E-Filings

18 April 2020 (Extended to 31 May 2020)

For Paper Filings

15 April 2020 (Extended to 31 May 2020)

Steps to E-file Taxes

1. CONFIRM THAT YOU NEED TO FILE FOR CURRENT YEAR OF ASSESSMENT (YA)

You must file an Income Tax Return if you receive a Notice of Assessment (NOA) or tax bill via a letter, form or an SMS from IRAS. It is mandatory for you to file a tax return if:

  • Your gross total income earned in the previous year exceeds $22,000
  • Or annual net business income exceeds $6,000

However, if you received a letter or SMS informing you that you are selected for No-Filing Service (NFS), you are not required to file a tax return.

2. PREPARE DOCUMENTS NEEDED

Before you log on to myTax Portal, ensure that you have these documents ready:

Verify that all the pre-filled information done by IRAS is accurate and complete in the online tax form. Check with the relevant organization directly for any discrepancies.

5. UPDATE EXISTING TAX RELIEFS

Remove any reliefs that you previously claimed but no longer qualify for them when you e-file. You can also amend the amount of reliefs which are shared with other claimants and include additional or new reliefs that you are qualified for.

6. DECLARE OTHER SOURCES OF INCOME

If you have received any other sources of income which are not pre-filled, you need to declare the income in the tax form.
